WASHINGTON — Police are searching for the people involved in a Northwest D.C. shooting that left a man dead early Tuesday.
Officers with the Metropolitan Police Department responded to 9th Street Northwest, nearby V Street Northwest and the 9:30 Club, around 1:20 a.m. after a report of gunshot sounds in the area. Upon arrival they found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The man, identified as 19-year-old Marquis Ward, of Northwest D.C., was taken to a local hospital in critical condition to be treated. He has since died.
A second man was also found with a minor graze wound.
Police say they are looking for a dark-colored Audi or Volkswagen SUV in connection to the crime. They say it was occupied by multiple people, possibly three to four, who were all wearing dark clothing.
The investigation into what happened is active and ongoing.
