WASHINGTON — DC’s Carjacking Task Force is seeking the public’s help identifying a man connected to a carjacking, robbery, and kidnapping.
On Tuesday, January 9, investigators say the suspect swerved his car in front of the victim's, forcing him to stop along the 400 block of K Street, Northwest. The carjacker then got out of his car and approached the victim.
Unaware of what was going on, the victim rolled down their window. The carjacker snatched the victim’s phone and assaulted him.
With nowhere to go, the carjacker ordered the victim to slide into the passenger seat. The suspect got into the 2023 White Mitsubishi Outlander Sport and drove the victim to the ATM to force him to withdraw money.
Once the assailant had the cash in hand, he drove the victim to a random location and made him get out of the car. The suspect then fled the scene.
A lookout for the suspect and Mitsubishi have been issued. Again, it is a 2023 white Mitsubishi Outlander Sport with Maryland tags, license plate number 3-F-J-4-1-7-7, and a damaged driver side rear view mirror.
Anyone with knowledge of the carjacking or suspect is asked to call 202-727-9099. Police are currently offering a reward of up to $1,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
