WASHINGTON — A man is facing charges after police say he used pepper spray to steal a victim's jacket after a fight in Northwest D.C. earlier this month.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, 20-year-old Jaleel Smith, of Northwest, D.C., has been charged with robbery and simple assault.
Investigators say Smith and the victims were involved in an argument inside a business in the 2400 block of 18th Street, Northwest around 5:30 p.m. on March 3. Once the group was outside, police say Smith sprayed the victims with pepper spray before taking one of the victim's jackets and running away.
Detectives arrested Smith a short time later.
