WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- A man accused of breaking into a Washington D.C. home and raping a woman appeared in court Friday for the first time.

Antwon Pitt of Washington D.C. faces two counts of first-degree burglary and one count of first-degree sexual abuse with aggravating circumstances in connection to two home invasions in October. In the second of the two incidents, Pitt allegedly raped an occupant in the home.

According to charging documents, Pitt forced himself into victim's home on October 13 in the 1800 block of A Street SE, began punching and grabbing her and threatened her by saying "Stop fighting of I'll kill you."

Pitt then ordered her to spread her legs, still threatening to kill her, proceeded to rape her, the charging documents said. He then stole the victim's cell phone, which police used to track and find him.

The victim was taken to a local hospital, where she underwent surgery because of her injuries.

In the first incident, police say Pitt stole a cell phone and other items on October 6 from a woman in the 600 block of Michigan Avenue NE. According to charging documents, the victim woke up and noticed Pitt standing in her bedroom. The victim said 'Hello' and Pitt said "I will get out here," the documents said.

Pitt then allegedly left the room with a tote bag belonging to the victim.

Authorities were able to locate Pitt by tracking the cell phone.

A D.C. Superior Court judge ordered Pitt to be held pending a preliminary hearing on January 6.
