WASHINGTON — The Looking Glass Lounge is here to stay.
The beloved Northwest bar announced on Instagram Wednesday that it has reached a long term lease agreement with its landlord.
"We finally worked out a long term lease with our landlord," the bar wrote in a post. "Georgia Ave is stuck with us. Thank you for your continued support. See you tonight, tomorrow, 2024 and beyond!!! #LookingGlassForever."
This news comes after the bar initially announced its closing back in March due to a dispute over rent. After 15 years of service, the bar was set to close at the end of the year. Now, officials say the bar is here to stay.
Several people on Instagram are calling this a "holiday miracle."
Their decision to remain open comes after several restaurants in the DMV have closed in just the past few months. Many have cited a rise in crime for why they closed their doors, including Brine Oyster & Seafood House and Buttercream Bakery in Mount Vernon Square.
