WASHINGTON — A suspicious package was found nearby the U.S. Capitol building Wednesday morning, causing road closures and sparking an investigation.
The U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) announced around 11 a.m. that they are investigating a suspicious package found on the west side of the building. They later specified the investigation was happening at the lower west terrace of the Capitol building.
About an hour later, investigators said the area was clear. Police have not said what the package contained.
