WASHINGTON - An investigation is underway after an infant who was living in the D.C. General Homeless Shelter died, D.C. police confirmed Wednesday.
Police and emergency crews responded to the shelter at 7:40 a.m. Wednesday. They arrived to find an infant unconscious.
The child was rushed to a nearby hospital where the baby died, Metropolitan Police said.
Police do not have any more information to release at this time, including how old the baby was, the gender or whether the child had been ill prior to passing away.
