In support of the Caps, Metro and Uber join forces to extend service Monday night

"The more fans we have out the better, and the more transportation options the better," said Mayor Muriel Bowser.

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) — There is strength in numbers, and to help get as many fans to the Capitals v. Lightning game at CapitalOne Arena on Monday night, Metrorail will remain open an additional hour.

“Planes, trains, and automobiles - it’s going to take it all to get the Caps a win on Monday and then back to Tampa to close out the series,” said Mayor Muriel Bowser.

Uber is funding the $100,000 cost associated with keeping the 234-mile, 91-station system open for an additional hour.

“The more fans we have out the better, and the more transportation options the better. Thank you, Uber, for helping move our city and this series forward,” added Bowser
