WASHINGTON — Another business is leaving D.C.'s Chinatown neighborhood.
Howl at the Moon announced it would be closing its doors to the public effective immediately.
The live music venue thanked its patrons on Facebook for supporting its move from Baltimore to D.C. all the way back to the original planned opening date in 2020, and again when it finally happened in 2022. Directing anyone with further questions or anyone with an outstanding reservation to email dcevents@howlatthemoon.com.
Officials say all upcoming happy hours have been canceled. Anyone who would like to redeem their party at a different Howl location is asked to reach out to nationalpm@howlatthemoon.com.
Venue officials have not said exactly why the Chinatown location is closing. Several Reddit users speculate that it has something to do with the Wizards and Caps possibly leaving D.C.
One Reddit user described the venue as having "Amazing cocktails, and some days they did free food for happy hour." With another who said "This was my literal favorite bar in D.C. I am distraught."
This is just the latest business in Chinatown to close its doors, with several citing rising crime and costs behind their reasoning to shut down.
The closest Howl at the Moon location is now in Philadelphia.
