Homicide detectives called to Southeast DC shooting

A man with gunshot wounds was found not conscious or breathing Friday afternoon.

WASHINGTON — Police are investigating after a man was shot in Southeast D.C. Friday. 

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, officers were called to the 2800 block of Hartford Street shortly after 3 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was unconscious and not breathing. 

Homicide detectives have been called to the scene of the crime. 

No suspect descriptions have been released at this time. 

Police blocked traffic in the area, including:

  • 2800 block of Hartford St. SE, between Alabama Ave. and 30th St. SE
  • 3000 block of 30th St., SE, between Hartford Street and Buena Vista Terrace, SE
