WASHINGTON — Police are searching for a suspect who they believe could have been involved in a dangerous assault in broad daylight in Southwest D.C. on Wednesday.
The incident happened in the 4600 block of South Capitol Street, Southwest just before 4:30 p.m.
Police responded to the location after a report of gunshots. Once officers arrived on the scene, they found evidence of a shooting, but no victim, they said.
However, a short time after, police said a man went to a local hospital, needing treatment for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
The suspect was captured by a surveillance camera. Police have since released photos of the person they're searching for:
Police have announced that anyone who can identify the suspect or who knows anything about the incident should take no action but call police at (202) 727-9099 or text your tip to the Department's texting tip line at 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a violent crime committed in the District.
