WASHINGTON — Four teens, as young as 13, are facing charges after police say they assaulted a victim while trying to steal his jacket at a bus stop on Tuesday.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the victim flagged down officers shortly after 3:30 p.m. in the 300 block of M Street, Southwest.

The victim told police he was at a bus stop at 4th and Maine Avenue, Southwest when four people surrounded him and demanded his jacket. When he said no, one of the suspects flashed a gun at him and followed him onto the bus.

While on the bus, investigators say the suspects punched the victim. When he got off the bus to meet his mother, the victim says one of the suspects pointed the gun at his mom and threatened her before running away.

The suspects were apprehended a short time later. All four have been identified only as a 13-year-old boy from Arlington, Virginia; a 13-year-old boy from Southwest D.C.; a 14-year-old boy from Arlington, Virginia; and a 15-year-old boy from Southeast D.C.

The 13-year-old from Arlington has been charged with felony threats and assault with the intent to rob.
