WASHINGTON -- Closures may impact your weekend travel plans if you are a Green line Metro rider.

Saturday and Sunday buses will replace the Green line trains between Mt. Vernon Sq. and Navy Yard.

The trains will operate regular between weekend intervals between Branch Ave. and Navy Yard and between Mt. Vernon and Greenbelt.

According to Metro free shuttle buses will operate between Navy Yard-Ballpark, Waterfront, L'Enfant Plaza, Archives, Gallery Place and Mt. Vernon Sq.

On Saturday from 7 a.m. to noon shuttle buses will not be able to serve the Archives station due to street detours in the Pennsylvania Ave. area. Customers are being advised to use Gallery Place, Judiciary Square or L'Enfant Plaza stations.

The following stations will be closed: Waterfront, L'Enfant Plaza (upper level), Archives and Gallery Place (lower level).

Information regarding last train time:

  • The last Navy Yard-bound Green Line train will depart Branch Ave and subsequent stations 19 minutes earlier than normal.
  • The last Mt Vernon Sq-bound Green Line train will depart Greenbelt and subsequent stations 32 minutes earlier than normal.
  • Tap your SmarTrip card each time you enter and exit the Metrorail system. Riders traveling through the work zone will be charged for a single, continuous trip.
