WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Washington's first "cat cafe" is opening its doors very very soon.

Crumbs & Whiskers announced that coffee lovers will get to start drinking their cup of joe with cats at their new cafe at 3211 O Street starting June 20.

The new cafe, which came to fruition through a Kickstarter campaign that more than doubled the original goal, will be littered with cats provided by the Washington Humane Society. The hope is that the cafe will be a source of stress relief and possibly encourage a couple of people to adopt cats of their own.

Patrons have to schedule their visit to the cafe ahead of time. The scheduling is already live for certain Kickstarter backers, but goes live for everyone June 18.

A launch party for the cafe is scheduled for June 19, but has already sold out.
