Capital Pride comes to D.C. this weekend. Pride weekend is a time to celebrate and support the LGBTQ+ community and there are a lot of different events to attend. Here is your complete guide to Capital Pride 2018.
Saturday, June 9
Capital Pride Block Party
On 15th St. between Church St. and P St., the Capital Pride Block Party will commence before the parade. Food, drinks and entertainment will be provided.
Time: 4 p.m. - 10 p.m.
How to get there: Dupont Circle Metro stop (Red Line)
Accessibility: There will be an Accessibility Zone provided, to those who need it. The entrance to the Accessibility Zone is on the south side of P St. on 15th St. and volunteers will be available to assist.

Capital Pride Parade
The Capital Pride Parade is one of the staples of pride, starting at 22nd and P St. and ending at 14th and R St. NW. There will be more than 200 floats, marchers and more. The block party is nearby and a family area will be available on Stead Field.
Time: 4:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

Sunday, June 10
Capital Pride Festival
Keep the celebration going at the Capital Pride Festival along Pennsylvania Avenue, which will be full of food and beverage vendors, community groups, businesses, and organizations. You’ll get the chance to donate to Capital Pride and other LGBTQ+ organizations at the event. For planning purposes you can view the full map here.
Time: 12 p.m. - 10 p.m.
Exhibitors until 7 p.m.
Food and beverages served until 9:30 p.m.
Entertainment: 12 p.m. - 10 p.m.

Accessibility: There will be an accessibility area near the concert stage
Capital Pride Concert
Throughout the Capital Pride Festival, local and and regional talent will be performing at various stages. Some notable performers include Alessia Cara, Troye Sivan and MAX.
Weather
There is a yellow weather alert for both Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, heavy rain and storms are expected in the afternoon. Temperatures will be hot and humid. Sunday will be cooler, but rain is also expected. Plan accordingly.

Other things to know
- The National Portrait Gallery and the Smithsonian American Art Museum will be lit up in rainbow from Friday night to Sunday afternoon.
- It is recommended that you bring only a small bag or leave it at home, as bags are subject to search
- During the parade and other events, the pavement may be hot, so be mindful of your pets.
