WASHINGTON β A man was arrested on reckless driving charges after he reportedly revved his car's engine near a group of people gathering before the State of the Union Thursday evening.
WUSA9 Katie Lusso was in the area when the incident occurred. She witnessed a person drive up to the crowd, gathered at H and 16th St. in Northwest. The crowd had gathered to protest ahead of President Joe Biden's State of the Union.
The driver reportedly began revving his engine before officers with the Metropolitan Police Department pulled him from the vehicle.
According to the United States Secret Service, the incident happened around 6 p.m., and no injuries were reported.
