District DMV offers drivers knowledge test in 15 languages

The District Department of Motor Vehicles is now offering its non-commercial driver license knowledge test in 15 different languages.
**ADVANCE FOR MONDAY MAY 7, 2007** Giuseppe Morra, 80, holds the examination testing guide that he has been studying in advance of his written driving rules test, in Washington on Thursday May 3, 2007. Since he is older than 75, Morra is required by the District of Columbia to pass a road test and a written exam of driving rules before his license can be renewed in August.

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- The District Department of Motor Vehicles is now offering its non-commercial driver license knowledge test in 15 different languages.

The test will be offered in the following 15 languages, according to the Department of Motor Vehicle:

•English; •Spanish; •French; •Amharic; •Korean; •Vietnamese; •Mandarin; •Cantonese; •Arabic; •German; •Japanese; •Portuguese; •Russian; •Tagalog •Thai.

The DMV is also offering an online practice test in the following languages: English, Spanish, French, Chinese, Amharic, Korean, and Vietnamese.

The test can be taken at any DMV Service center between Tuesday and Saturday from 8:15 a.m to 3 p.m. For more information visit: http://dmv.dc.gov/
