WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Police are searching for two teenagers who kidnapped a man and forced him into the trunk of his car.

It happened between 3:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Tuesday in the 900 block of Decatur Street, NW. in D.C.

A Metro Transit officer in a squad car was going southbound on Georgia Avenue close to Decatur St. and saw a man escape out of the trunk of a car going northbound on Georgia Avenue, according to police.

The officer stopped his vehicle and the victim, who had just come out of the trunk, flagged down the officer and told him he had just been carjacked and kidnapped, police said.

The car involved in the carjacking is described as a dark blue late model, possibly a 2009 Acura four-door. The victim used the emergency released device to free himself, police said.

Shortly after the victim escaped from the trunk, the vehicle was involved in an accident at the intersection of Emmerson of Georgia Avenue, according to authorities. The suspects then fled the scene on foot.

Police have released updated descriptions of the suspects.

The first suspect was described as a black male, approximately 5'9" in height, brown eyes and was last seen wearing a black hoodie with the hood pulled up over his head, covering his mouth. He was armed with a handgun, say police.

The second suspect was described as a clean shaven black male, approximately 6'1" in height, weighing 180 pounds, and was last seen wearing a black hoodie with the hood pulled up over his head and also covering his chin. He was also armed with a handgun.
