WASHINGTON — Canna Coffee Ice Cream Cafe Mocktail Bar Lounge owner Greg Harris is back, just two months after a video went viral of him yelling at a food delivery driver to “learn English” and after his restaurant was subsequently shut down for health code violations.
In September, a food delivery driver posted a video on TikTok of his experience picking up an order from Harris at his Adams Morgan restaurant. In the video, Harris can be heard telling the driver, "Learn English! Learn it! You get money in America. This is... If you get money in America, learn English!"
Just one day after WUSA9 reported on the video, D.C. officials ordered the cafe to shut down due to unrelated health code violations found in an inspection a week earlier.
Now, Harris has rebranded to @humansarecrazycafe on Instagram and has been posting videos selling food out of a truck for the past two weeks. His bio on his page states, “The guy who went viral for telling the truth in a #mean way #reflection of you in the mirror out loud.”
On Nov. 6, Harris posted a video of the food truck being prepared and wrote as a part of the caption, “yes, #FoodTruck is here.” Later that day, he posted a video of him selling food out of the truck. The caption reads in part, “Mainstream media make you believe they bury me with a gold shovel, but guess what haters we still selling the F out.”
Since then, he’s been posting more videos and pictures of the truck and food being made in the truck.
To operate a food truck in the District, business owners are required to obtain a Class A Vending Business License from DC's Department of Licensing and Consumer Protection (DLCP), which are meant for food vendors. It is unknown at this time whether Harris has a vending license.
Before Canna Cafe was shut down by the health department, DLCP issued two notices of infraction on May 13 and Aug. 8, a spokesperson told WUSA9 in September.
