Police continue the search for a D.C. woman whose body went missing eight years ago after being strangled by her boyfriend, her brother Derrick Butler tells WUSA9.
Pamela Butler was killed just before Valentine's Day in 2009 by her boyfriend Jose Rodriquez Cruz. He has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for strangling her. His plea comes with the condition of helping police locate her body.
On Monday, Derrick Butler said police told him that they would be looking for his sister's body this week in Stafford County, Virginia.
Derrick said he was not given a specific day or time.
If Cruz fails to do everything he can to help police find Pamela Butler's body, the judge told him the plea deal would be over.
He would again face a charge of second degree murder, but first degree pre-meditated murder. That charge could send him to prison for decades.
