Bomb threat at Gallery Place Metro station unfounded

D.C. police responded to the Gallery Place- Chinatown Metro station Tuesday evening for the report of a bomb threat.

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- D.C. police responded to the Gallery Place- Chinatown Metro station Tuesday evening for the report of a bomb threat.

Authorities said they received the report of the bomb threat a little before 6 p.m. The Metropolitan Police Department and Metro Police Department responded to the station with officers and K-9s.

They swept the station and found nothing. According to authorities, the incident is being call unfounded.

The Metro station was not evacuation. The train service was not halted or affected in any way.

Deputies are investigating this incident.
