Arrest made in Northeast DC armed kidnapping case; Second person wanted for the crime

The kidnappers drove the man around while they took belongings from him.

WASHINGTON — An arrest has been made after a man was kidnapped at gunpoint in Northeast D.C. in December, but now police say they are looking for another person in connection to the crime.

Officers with the Metropolitan Police Department say suspects approached the man on Dec. 26, just before 4:25 a.m., in the area of New York Avenue Northeast, nearby 6th Street Northeast, and threatened him with handguns. They then demanded the man's vehicle keys and ordered him into his car.

The kidnappers then drove the man around while they took belongings from him. They then let the man out of the vehicle and left the scene, driving away in the car.

Since then, police say the vehicle was recovered. 

Through an investigation, police identified and arrested 25-year-old Winston Timoteo for the crime, charging him with armed kidnapping. The police department is now looking for an additional person in connection to the crime. Here's a photo of the alleged culprit:

Anyone who can identify this suspect or who has knowledge of this incident should take no action but call police at (202) 727-9099 or text your tip to the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411.  The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a violent crime committed in the District of Columbia.
