WASHINGTON -- A 19-year-old has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of 10-year-old Makiyah Wilson that happened in Northeast, D.C. in July 2018. This is the seventh arrest in the case.
On Friday, police arrested Darrise Jeffers, of Northwest, D.C. He has been charged with first-degree murder while armed.
The rising 5th grader died four months ago when a group of masked men was caught on video firing more than 70 gunshots into a crowd of people.
The incident may have stemmed from an alleged beef between Wellington Park and DC’s Clay Terrace neighborhoods.
Mark Price, Marquell Cobb, Quentin Michals, Qujuan Thomas, and Gregory Taylor are currently all behind bars and have been charged with first-degree murder.
