WASHINGTON (AP) - Four Smithsonian museums will be opening Tuesday for the first time since the snowstorm that hit the Washington region.
Smithsonian museums are generally open every day of the year except Christmas, but the museums shut down at noon Friday and were closed Saturday, Sunday and Monday as the storm dumped nearly 2 feet of snow.
Smithsonian spokeswoman Linda St. Thomas said Monday that the National Museum of Natural History and National Air and Space Museum would be open for their regular hours Tuesday: 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
St. Thomas said the American Art Museum and National Portrait Gallery would also be open for normal hours: 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
