WASHINGTON — A water main break in Northwest D.C. caused issues for businesses in the area Friday afternoon.
According to a spokesperson with DC Water, crews are working on the 6-inch water main break near 1350 U Street, Northwest. The DC Water website indicates water issues in the area were first reported shortly before 11:30 a.m.
DC Water says the break is being treated as a "level 5 repair," which is the utility's highest priority.
The water main break has caused around 30 businesses in the area to lose water service, as well as one fire hydrant. It is unclear when the water service may return.
WUSA9 contacted DC Water Saturday morning and they declared the repair was completed overnight.
Subsequently, DC Water confirmed the service was "restored at about 2 a.m."
