Police identify man, 2 women found dead inside Northeast DC home

Police say the victims, only identified as a man and two women, were all dead when officers arrived. It is unclear when they died.

WASHINGTON — Police are investigating in Northeast D.C. Wednesday night after a man and two women were found dead. 

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the victims were found in the 5000 block of Jay Street NE. 

Officers were originally called to the scene to do a welfare check shortly before 8 p.m. In a press conference Wednesday night, Assistant Chief Ramey Kyle said the door was ajar when police arrived. When the officers went inside the apartment, they found three people dead.

All three people had been shot and police are investigating their deaths as a homicide. 

Police say the victims, only identified as a man and two women, were all dead when officers arrived. It is unclear when they died.

The victims have since been identified as 58-year-old Renee Bigelow of no fixed address, 40-year-old Kimberly Stevens, and 59-year-old Leon Harper both of Northeast, D.C.
