WASHINGTON — Three men were shot in Southeast D.C. Tuesday afternoon, police confirm.
Police said the men were shot in the 3500 block of Wheeler Road, Southeast around 1:15 p.m. All three men are conscious and breathing and were transported to hospitals. They are all in stable condition.
Police are looking for a small, burgundy SUV, similar to a Rav4, with a ski rack, no front tag and tint on the rear windows. Police do not have a tag number, but the vehicle was last seen fleeing down Wheeler Road, towards Prince George's County. Police said the vehicle may be occupied by a man wearing a gray hoodie and black hooded sweat shirt.
"The amount of gun violence is unacceptable, and we do everything we can to try and eradicate that," Captain James Boteler said. "But even on Christmas Eve, we see that someone feels brazen enough in the middle of the day to fire rounds in an open street."

Additionally, a man was shot and killed outside of a Prince George's County convenience store on Saturday night, police said.
Around 4:10 p.m., officers with Prince George's County PD were called to the 5200 block of Malboro Pike for a reported shooting. Once at the scene, the officers found an adult male with multiple gunshot wounds. Officers pronounced him dead at the scene.
Police said they believe the shooting was not random but have yet to provide further information on the suspect or the motive behind the crime.

On Dec. 15, a 19-year-old man died after being shot in Northeast D.C.
D.C. Police said they responded to the 1000 block of Rhode Island Ave., Northeast on Dec. 15 after the report of a shooting. When they got there, they found a man with multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim was taken to the hospital, but later died. The victim has been identified as 19-year-old Daquan Hankins.
