2 people wounded after separate shootings in Southeast DC in less than an hour

Two people were wounded in the shootings, which have not been connected.

WASHINGTON — Police are investigating two separate shootings that were reported less than an hour apart in Southeast D.C. Tuesday evening.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the first shooting was reported around 4:30 p.m. after a victim walked into a DC Fire & EMS station on Irving Street, SE. 

Police believe the shooting that left the victim wounded happened in the 2700 block of Jasper Street. The victim was conscious and breathing when they were taken to an area hospital for help. 

No suspect information has been released at this time, and there is no word on any possible motive behind the shooting. 

The second shooting was reported 45 minutes later in the 2400 block of S Street, SE. 

Police say a man was wounded in the shooting. He was not conscious or breathing when help arrived. His current condition is unknown.

Investigators have not said anything about a possible motive behind this shooting either, and no suspect descriptions have been released.

The two shootings have not been connected.
