Person displaced, 2 dogs injured after SE DC fire

The dogs have been taken to a veterinarian for help.

WASHINGTON — A person is displaced after a fire broke out at a home in Southeast D.C. Tuesday.

According to DC Fire and EMS, the fire sparked at a home in the 3400 block of Ely Place, SE. 

Crews were called to the home. Upon arrival, firefighters worked to extinguish the fire and any hot spots around the solar panels on the roof of the home. 

Two dogs were rescued from the home and treated on scene before being taken to a veterinarian for additional help. 

One person was displaced after the fire and the American Red Cross was called to help. 

There is no word on what may have caused the fire at this time.
