Holiday lights, food, and music returns to DC with the Downtown Holiday Market

While taking in the holiday feel and shopping, people will be able to enjoy the sounds of a live stage with regional performers every day.

WASHINGTON — Christmas carols, tree lights, and holiday cheer is finding its way back to downtown D.C. with the return of the holiday market.

As the cool temperatures creep in and fall starts to feel like a thing of the past, the annual Downtown Holiday Market is making its return for the 18th time.

Starting on Nov. 18 through Dec. 23, with the exception of Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24 and Dec. 5, the market will be open daily from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. It will be centered at 8th and F streets Northwest.

The holiday market, that will take over two entire blocks of F Street Northwest, will be an outdoor shopping village that supports small businesses and entrepreneurs across the region.

Once you walk through the main grand entrance, which is located on the sidewalk in front of the National Portrait Gallery, you will be greeted with the sounds and smells of more than 70 exhibitors. There will be booths that feature art, clothes, crafts, jewelry, and more.

There will also be six food vendors which will include freshly prepared empanadas, mini donuts, BBQ, hot cocoa, as well as gift foods like assortments of chocolates, spices, and teas.

While taking in the holiday feel and shopping, people will be able to enjoy the sounds of a live stage with regional performers every day.
