WASHINGTON — Police arrested two people, including a 17-year-old boy, Thursday in connection to a string of carjackings and robberies throughout D.C.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, 19-year-old Ivan Dixon and a 17-year-old boy, both from Southeast DC, face multiple charges for crimes spanning weeks throughout the District.
The two were arrested after the Metropolitan Police Department Sixth District Detective Unit, Carjacking Task Force, and the Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant in the 3000 block of Stanton Road, Southeast. A gun was recovered during the search and arrest.
Dixon has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon, robbery, armed carjacking, carrying a pistol with a license, bench warrant, possession of unregistered ammunition, and unlawful possession of ammunition.
The 17-year-old suspect faces charges of robbery, armed carjacking, unlawful possession of an unregistered firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, possession of unregistered ammunition, and possession of large-capacity ammunition.
Police say the pair's crime spree started as early as September 22 and continued until the day they were arrested.

Police say the two teens got into the car but realized they could not drive away after noticing the car had a manual transmission.
