CHEVY CHASE, Md. (WUSA9) -- Residents told WUSA9 that a loud explosion woke them up after a private ambulance caught fire in Chevy Chase Tuesday morning.
Montgomery County Fire Department said the ambulance caught on fire after hitting a utility pole around 4:40 a.m. Tuesday. The crash happened in the 5200 block of Western Ave, close to the intersection of Western Avenue and Harrison street.
Officials say nobody was injured.
There were reported hazardous road conditions in the area, but it is unclear what caused the crash.
