WALDORF, Md. (WUSA9) -- A gun shop ravaged by fire on Monday morning in Waldorf may have been burglarized before the blaze, according to the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office.

The fire was reported at Fred's Sports Indoor Shooting Range at 2895 Crain Highway at approximately 4:50 a.m., according to Charles County fire officials.

No one was injured in the fire, but one firefighter was treated and released on the scene for light headedness. The fire was under control in less than half an hour, officials said.

An investigation into the fire reveals that the cause of the fire was incendiary and there is evidence the store was burglarized before a fire was set, according to the fire marshal's office.

The gun range and shop did not have a sprinkler system. The fire left an estimated $1 million in damage to the structure and products, according to the fire marshal's office. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are helping the owner secure the building and taking inventory of remaining products.

Investigators ask that anyone with information about the fire or who saw anything suspicious in the area to call 443-550-6835 or the arson tip line at 1-800-492-7529.
