Car hits Metrobus, causing bus to crash in NW, DC

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- A car that hit a Metrobus Monday morning caused the bus to crash in NW, D.C., Metro said.

The crash happened on 16th St. at Underwood St., according to officials. A car hit the accordion of the bus, which then caused the bus operator to jump the curb, hit a tree and then hit a low wall.

About 12 people were on the bus at the time of the crash. Nobody was injured, officials said.

DC police are investigating the crash. The driver of the car is being evaluated for injuries.
