WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- The two teenagers involved in the Green Line train shooting that happened at the Anacostia Metro station will both be tried as adults, according to the Superior Court.

A 16-year-old male, identified as Hassan Graves, shot a man on a Green Line train after the train stopped at the Anacostia Metro station Tuesday, Metro Transit Police said.

The 16-year-old was charged with armed robbery and 19-year-old Andre Broadie was charged with robbery in connection with the shooting. The court ruled Wednesday morning that the 16-year-old will be tried as an adult.

An investigation into the shooting is ongoing, but preliminarily it appears the shooting stemmed from either a robbery or an attempted robbery, according to a police source.

Graves was charged with the robbery of a 7-11 store in Southeast D.C. on December 30.

Authorities said they still have not found the weapon that was used in the shooting.

Police say the shooting on Tuesday was a rarity. More officers have been riding Metro trains to patrol the area.

The victim in the shooting has been released from the hospital, officials said.
