2 taken to hospital after car found hanging above creek on pile of rocks

It's not clear how the car ended up in the precarious position.

ARLINGTON, Va. — Two people were taken to a hospital after firefighters found a car hanging above a creek on piles of rocks in Arlington, Virginia.

Authorities were alerted to a single-vehicle crash in the 600 block of S. Carlin Springs Road on Dec. 2.

Firefighters with the Arlington County Fire Department found a vehicle that was hanging above a creek on piles of rocks. Officials said crews removed the car from the creek and found two occupants inside the vehicle. 

Both occupants were taken to an area hospital with injuries that appeared to be non-life-threatening. 

The identities of the two people have not been released. It is unclear how the vehicle ended up hanging above the creek.
