ARLINGTON, Va. — Police are investigating what they say appears to be a murder-suicide in Arlington County on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Arlington County Police Department, officers were called to the 500 block of 12th Street South around 4:15 p.m.
Investigators say building maintenance called after conducting a welfare check on behalf of a concerned family member. Inside the bedroom, police found a man and woman dead from gunshot wounds.
Police say the preliminary investigation leads them to believe the two deaths happened as a murder-suicide.
On Thursday, police identified the woman and man as Nadejda Mossor, 22, and 37-year-old Jason Han, of Arlington. Police said they were in a relationship.
The official cause and manner of death will be determined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
Police say this appears to be an isolated incident and there is no indication of a larger threat to the community.
Anyone with information may contact the Arlington County Crime Solvers hotline at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).
