ALEXANDRIA, Va. (WUSA9) -- Two firefighters were injured while responding to a 3-alarm fire in Alexandria on Friday night.
According to officials, the firefighters suffered minor injuries in the three story house fire. The home is divided into three apartments.
The fire broke around 6:45 p.m. in the 100 block of East Howell Ave in the Del Ray neighborhood.
Officials say six people from the house were displaced. One dog and one cat were rescued. A second cat is still missing.
Officials do not know the cause of the fire or estimated damages.
The fire went to three alarms because of some hoarding conditions inside the house and to avoid heat exhaustion injuries to fire crews.
