Thursday, April 23, 2015 marks the fifth anniversary of former governor Jan Brewer signing senate bill 1070.
It became known as the "show me your papers law."
12 News sat down with former Governor Jan Brewer, to talk about the day she signed 10-70 into law.
Brewer says, "I have never really seen anything that large in whole history of my political career. The crowd and the cameras and the people, there just seemed to be a lot of emotions. It was a very dramatic day."
The former governor also says she doesn't have any regrets about signing the bill.
She also discusses the impact that law has had on immigration then, and now.
