HYATTSVILLE, Md. (WUSA9) -- Thursday, a memorial service is scheduled for one of the last original Tuskegee Airmen.
Maryland resident LeRoy A. Battle passed away on March 27.
Throughout his life he was a civil rights pioneer. He also received the Congressional Gold Medal.
The service will be held at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Hyattsville.
