Taita Kitt thought she left her big screen TVs, clothes, and children's mementos safe in her self-storage unit but instead she got a locker full of disgust.
"It just greets you when you open the door," said Kitt. "It's so nasty, I don't want to touch it."
She's talking about the awful stench left as rodents digest her family's belongings.
When Kitt first complained to Capital Beltway Storage she wasn't pleased with their offer.

"I asked them how can you accommodate me and they just told me we can give you two small bins that we will have to pull outside every time we come, " said Kitt. "No accommodations, money wise, nothing."
She complained again and management bumped up its offer. She could move to a different unit and the company would give it to her for two months rent free.
"Very depressing," said Kitt.
Kitt contacted WUSA9's Call for Action. We investigated and saw the damage and spotted a dead mouse on a glue trap.
"I bring my son out here, he's autistic, he don't know no better, what if he would have touched that" said Kitt.
After we reached out to Capital Beltway Storage, the company bumped up its offer. Kitt moved moving to a larger unit, 6 month's rent free.
"You have been a huge amount of help and I really appreciate it, I really thank you all for coming and helping me with this and I really appreciate you all," said Kitt.
Kitt had rental protection but it didn't cover damage caused by rodents however her new insurance does.
