BALTIMORE — Maryland Governor Larry Hogan called for Mayor Catherine Pugh to resign hours after the FBI searched her home and City Hall.
"Today, Federal law enforcement agents are raiding Baltimore's City Hall, the homes of Mayor Catherine Pugh and the office of her attorney," Hogan said in a press release sent from the Office of the Governor.
Hogan directed the state prosecutor to investigate allegations against Pugh's "questionable financial dealings" with the University of Maryland Medical System, the press release said.
Baltimore needs "strong and responsible leadership," Hogan said. "Mayor Pugh has lost the public trust. She is clearly not fit to lead."
