WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- The George Washington Colonials are set to take on the Virginia Cavaliers on November 16 to open up men's NCAA basketball play. The game will have an even larger audience than originally thought.

On Tuesday, ESPN announced its Tip-Off Marathon games and the GW-UVA match-up is scheduled to air on ESPN2 at 7:30 p.m. from the Smith Center in Washington, D.C.

"We are thrilled to once again welcome ESPN to the Smith Center for what will be an exciting night for our fanbase," said Patrick Nero, Director of Athletics at GW.

During the 2014-15 season, George Washington participated in eight games that aired on ESPN, going 6-2 which included a thrilling 65-64 overtime win against the Dayton Flyers on February 6.

George Washington will be looking to improve on their 2014-15 season where they went 22-13 and missed out on the NCAA Tournament. The Colonials eventually went on to the 2015 National Invitational Tournament only to lose in the second round 90-77 to the Temple Owls.
