The museum at Ford's Theatre National Historic Site is closed due to a water leak on Wednesday, according to National Park Service officials.

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- The museum at Ford's Theatre National Historic Site is closed due to a water leak on Wednesday, according to National Park Service officials.

The leak resulted in approximately an inch of water in the museum, say officials, but the leak has now been stopped. No artifacts were affected or threatened by the water.

Facility are trying to determine the cause of the leak.

Museum curators monitoring humidity levels and other conditions.

Officials do not know when the museum will reopen.
