WASHINGTON — The second annual “Summer In The City” will return to D.C. on April 6.

D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser and the Office of Out of School Time Grants and Youth Outcomes (OST Office) are inviting parents and families to Raymond Elementary School on Saturday, April 6 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to connect with government agencies and organizations to learn more about summer programs available to students.

“From employment opportunities to learning experiences, Summer in the City is a one-stop shop for families to learn more about the fantastic, high-quality summer programs available for youth across DC,” said Bowser. “If your family is looking for a way to keep your students engaged and active during the summer months, then I encourage you to attend this year’s Summer in the City.”

The program is sponsored by Learn24, the OST Office, and the Deputy Mayor for Education and helps connect students from Kindergarten through grade 12 with summer programs, internships, and employment opportunities. In 2023, Summer In The City helped over 250 families find summer programs for their kids.

“We launched Summer in the City last year to centralize what’s available for District families and to showcase coordination across agencies and organizations that provide summer opportunities,” said Deputy Mayor for Education Paul Kihn.
