FREDERICK, Md. — A Maryland high school was left without costumes for their upcoming spring musical after the company they paid $8,000 to rent costumes from suddenly closed, taking the school's money with it.
According to a GoFundMe for the Linganore High School Drama Department, students and staff returned from a trip to Disney to learn their money was gone and the company they paid to rent costumes from had closed just 10 days before opening night.
The school began to scramble to find a quick fix, turning to GoFundMe to hopefully raise the money the department had lost.
"This issue has cost the drama program $8,000 that they will most likely never be able to recoup," the GoFundMe reads. "So here we are, appealing to the community."
As of 10 p.m. Monday, the GoFundMe has surpassed the $8,000 goal and currently sits at nearly $10,000. Click here to donate.
The GoFundMe says all the funds raised will be given to the Linganore Drama Boosters.
