FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. — Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) is asking for the community's help paying off more than $90,000 in school meal debt.
On Monday, the county announced that as of Nov. 15, the current school meal debt for the 2024-2025 school year is $91,582.20. The debt increases by $1,400 each school day.
FCPS has a policy that allows all students, regardless of their ability to pay, to eat breakfast and lunch at school. The county sends a weekly email to families whose students have a negative balance in the MySchoolBucks system.
To address the deficit, FCPS is asking for the community to donate towards the school meal debt. To donate towards the debt, click here.
