BALTIMORE, Md. (WUSA9) — A German Shephard stolen in 2015 has been reunited with his owner after three years apart, thanks to Howard County Police.
The department posted the heartwarming story on their Facebook page, detailing how an officer recovered the dog during a traffic stop after the dog was said to be running down the road in Baltimore.

After animal control scanned the dog for a microchip and phoned the owner, she told police that Harley, the dog, had actually been stolen from her backyard in 2015 when he was 2 years old. She told police she still often looked for him online.
An even sweeter twist to the story: Harley used to be a K9-in-training with the Carroll County Sheriff. After the Sheriff’s Deputy was injured and couldn’t continue Harley’s training, he was adopted at six months by his owner.
Harley is now an honorary K9 and has been reunited with his overjoyed owner.
