Howard University students tell police man lured, sexually assaulted them

Victims tell police Julian Everett gave them alcohol that caused them to lose consciousness

WASHINGTON — A 35-year-old man has been accused of sexually assaulting three teenage girls, by luring them after giving them alcoholic drinks that may have been laced, Prince George's County police said.

Julian Everett of New Carrollton, Md., was charged Thursday, officials said during a news conference.

Police said the cases were brought up after someone sent an anonymous letter to D.C. police in March 2018. Authorities in D.C. and Prince George’s County worked together to open an investigation.

Two of the three victims were Howard University students at the time of the assaults in 2015 and 2016. Authorities said the third assault took place in 2005.

The first victim told police she was assaulted in August 2016 when she was 17. Police said Everett contacted the girl through an unofficial Facebook page for incoming freshmen at Howard University. Everett later picked her up and took her to his barbershop on U street in northwest D.C.

Everett gave the underage girl alcohol and she said it made her sick and lose consciousness, police said. When she woke up, she said Everett was sexually assaulting her at his home in New Carrollton, police said. He later drove her back to her dorm, according to a police report.

The second victim told police she was assaulted in a similar way in August 2015 when she was 18. The victim, also a Howard University student, met up with Everett who picked her up from her dorm and gave her alcohol, police said. She also told police she lost consciousness and was taken to Everett’s home where he sexually assaulted her.

In the 2005 case, a 16-year-old girl said Everett sexually assaulted her at his home in the exact same scenario as the other two victims, police said. When Everett drove the girl back home to Virginia, he also physically assaulted her in his car, according to a police report.

Everett was charged in the Virginia case. He now faces multiple charges in the most recent alleged assaults, police said.

Officials believe there may be other victims.

The Prince George’s County Police Department has created a tip line and is asking anyone with information on Julian Everett to call 301-772-4915.
