(WUSA9) -- A TransAsia Airways flight crashed into a Taipei river shortly after takeoff Wednesday with 58 passengers on board.
Dashcam footage from cars on a bridge beside the river captured the plane going down. TransAsia Airways Flight GE235 was flying on its side when one wing scraped Taiwan's National Freeway No. 1 and plunged into the river.
At least 26 people died and 15 survived when the plane clipped its wing on a bridge and crashed. Seventeen people remained missing and were feared dead.
Teams of rescuers in rubber rafts responded to the crash area in the Keelung River.
